Nails Edition

Q:  Can i get gel nails if i'm a nail biter and have extremely short nails on some fingers?

A:  You should get either our Rockstar Gel manicure w/ a hard gel overlay or a set of gel nails to even out your nails.  Our clients who are biters say they can refrain from biting when they get either services done.

I don't know how bad you are, but we were able to convert quite a few nail biters.

Of course, it will only work if you actually try not to bite your nails too.

Q:  I heard gel manicures are bad for you, is this true?

A:  Concerns about gel services are in regards to the UV light curing process.  We do not use UV lights.  Our gel products are cured using LED lights which set in 30 seconds instead of the traditional 2 minutes per coat!

We have been using LED cured gel since Gelish came out with the first LED light and matching gel polishes.  UV products are so 2011!!

Q:  What do you feel about acrylic nails?

A:  Acrylic have its place for certain people, but it is a dinosaur in nail tech.  We prefer a more natural, odorless, and environment friendly alternative like Artistic Hard Gel for extensions.

We are moving away from acrylics and as our clients make the transition, we will stop offering the service.

Q:  What is your favorite brand of polish?

A:  This is a two part answer.  First is my reply for regular lacquered polishes:  Zoya & Misa has absolutely beautiful coverage and lasts the longest from my observation.  China Glaze has the best  selection of fun summer brights and modern colors.  OPI has some of the richest deep colors I have seen, they make the best dark colors!

For gel polishes I like Gelish for being overall very consistent and abundant in colors (except their fall 2012 collection which were too thick and sucked for all the reasons bad gel polish sucked), Perfect Match and Gel II lasts forever, Artistic from the same parent company as Gelish and was branded as the "couture" version of gel polish.  Is it any better?  *Shrugs*  It applies and lasts similarly to Gelish.
